February '26 Studio Update
Welcome back! Thanks for stoppin’ by and tuning in on the latest from the studio. We’ve got a few updates and exciting news to share so let’s get into it!
Last Month’s Reflections
February was short and sweet in the studio. Although we didn’t get to as many projects as we’d liked to this month, we did manage to plan and prepare for future progress. We had fun in the ceramics studio, celebrated Galentine’s Day with friends, worked on the new website and more!
Celebrating Self-Love
Valentine’s Day has always been a favorite holiday of mine but not for the reasons you may think. I see it as a time to reflect on the concept of love in general, rather than a romantic day exclusively for couples. This past Galentine’s Day I celebrated with a group of friends, appreciating their company and expressing our gratitude for each other. Keepin’ it cute and chill ❤️
Work Hard, Clay Harder
This past month I decided to embark on my most ambitious ceramic project yet. I was inspired to make a lion dog statue after admiring another student’s and, let me tell you, I did NOT anticipate the amount of time and effort that’d go into this. That said, I'm thrilled with the result and I learned so much throughout the process. Now we’ve gotta make the head!
New Sites to See
Remember when I said I was migrating my website from Squarespace to Shopify? Well, as it turns out, Shopify’s interface was super buggy and frustrating so I opted to upgrade my existing Squarespace subscription and build out my store there. We’ve got a projected launch date of March 31st complete with new merch so stay tuned for more deets!
Artist Spotlight
I met Andrew last summer in Chicago at CollectedCon where I learned all about the Spaceboidega universe 🤩 It was such a privilege to speak with them about their art. I’m so grateful to have been sent the latest plushie of Spaceboi, himself!
What I’m listening to
Guitar Meditations — Mark Lombardo
Mark Lombardo’s music is calm and grounded which provides an ideal ambiance while working or winding down from the day.
What I’m watching
Struthless — Campbell Walker
Cambell Walker’s enthusiasm is contagious and his authenticity continues to encourage me throughout my art journey. He’s also an incredible storyteller that’ll keep you locked in throughout his videos from start to finish.
What I’m reading
Make Art Make Money — Elizabeth Hyde Stevens
As an artist, the practice of running a business and selling my work has always been a challenge. This book provides insight and solutions for creating and succeeding via lessons from a personal hero of mine, Jim Henson.
That’s all, folks!
Thanks for catching up! If you’d like to support me further, consider visiting my shop for exclusive merch. Take care friends and stay tuned for more progress reports!
