November Been Better
November '25 Studio Update
Thanks for stoppin’ by and tuning in on the latest from the studio. We’ve got some updates to share and some thoughts on a few things so let’s get into it!
Last Month’s Reflections
November has been a slow month in the studio and I’m not mad about it. Although I haven’t moved the needle much on projects it was nice to unplug for a bit and unwind.
It’s Giving…
Thanksgiving, fondly referred to as Yam Sham (iykyk), was a chill day for me and the fam. We kept it lowkey with an assortment of homemade contributions including my first attempt at a homemade pie. It didn’t turn out quite as well as I had hoped but it tasted fine. Just looked a lil’ sus. That said, I still want to take another stab at it and lean into this potential pie era.
Putting the “Weee” in Wheel
I took another wheel class lead by my original instructor and I recognized a noticeable improvement in my throwing skills compared to the first class back in July. I still have a ways to go until I achieve my goal of creating a teapot and saki set but I’m making progress and am looking forward to the rest of the journey.
Shopping Smol
With November comes the annual tradition of shopping the best deals from big box stores. Given the latest on large corporations, the idea of shopping small is now more attractive than ever. Rather than overindulging in mass-produced products I decided to support fellow artists and their small businesses. I’ll include a haul recap of the neat things I got from Karepango and OK Super Day later this month!
Chicken Fun
After I saw Nick Park’s short films A Grand Day Out and The Wrong Trousers I was immediately hooked on stop-motion animation. Especially animated films made with pliable plasticine known as claymation. When Chicken Run returned to theaters I knew I had to make an effort to go and re-experience this amazing film and I’m happy to report it still holds up 25 years after its debut.
That’s a Wrap!
Thanks for catching up! If you’d like to support me further, consider visiting my shop for merch made by yours truly. Take care friends and stay tuned!
